The list of health and wellness classes below are worth 25 points each in the My Health Rewards program. To enroll in a class, log in to COMET – Learning and Development, and enter a keyword under “Search for Learning".
 
Please Note:  In order to receive points for the class, you need to self-report your attendance.  To to the Rewards page of your My Health Rewards website. Scroll down to the "Complete Healthy Activities" section and click on "Attend a City of Minneapolis sponsored health and wellness class" then click Earn. You can get points for up to two classes in a year.

Diabetes Alert Day Information Session
One in three Americans is at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, a serious disease that can lead to complications such as kidney disease, blindness, and amputations. The Wellness Committee is engaging the American Diabetes Association to provide tips on identifying and reducing risk for this growing epidemic. We will also highlight resources the City provides for employees.

Bike Basics for City Employees: Tips, Tricks and Traffic Skills
Learn basic skills to prepare you to get on your bike and be comfortable.  This introductory classroom course covers the basic rules of the road and best practices to being safe and comfortable on the road and trail, potential barriers to riding,  and a discussion of strategies to overcome these barriers.

Basic Bike Maintenance Workshop 
This course offers participants the opportunity to learn how to properly maintain and do minor reports of their bicycles.  The class starts with a maintenance overview and then uses the rest of the class time to work on bikes as a group.  Participants can observe or be hands-on in the diagnosis and repair of the bikes.

  Ergonomics
This training will provide an overview of the ergonomic factors that affect daily work of employees at the City. Employees can learn about the risk factors that potentially contribute to accidents/injury or work-related musculoskeletal disorders and strategies for injury prevention. Increase awareness of work place ergonomics, understand the breadth and scope of office/ occupational ergonomics, obtain basic knowledge in the application of ergonomic principles to design of your workplaces and the prevention of work related injuries and learn how to get help adjusting your work station.
